St Paul’s

At the beginning of the year I was fortunate enough to go on Christian Heritage Tour with Ben Virgo. London never ceases to bring fresh insights and bright glimpses into days gone by. This was no exception. With dramatic flair, Ben inspired us with the lives of Wilberforce, Wesley, Whitefield and John Newton as we discovered parts of the city we never knew existed.

However the day was freezing cold. His exuberance almost warmed us, but standing in chilly squares and on drafty corners it was a real test of our resolve. Late in the afternoon we rounded a corner and as the sun began to set it cast a golden glow on the magnificent dome of St Paul’s, the buildings around settling back into the shadowy dusk.

I knew immediately it would make a great print and I loved trying to capture the light and mood in this one.

(If anyone fanices a fascinating historic walk I could not recomend Christianheritagelondon.org more highly! )
